Vital Records

Official Document

The Walpole Town Clerk’s Office can print an official raised seal copy of any record for a vital event that occurred in New Hampshire.

It’s not about where you live, it’s about where the event happened.

For example, if your family member who lives in Walpole, NH passed in Vermont, was born in Vermont or got married in Vermont then you must request the record you need from Vermont.

Official raised seal numbered copies of Birth Certificates, Death Certificates, Divorce Certificates and Marriage Certificates are all available for $15 for the first copy and $10 for subsequent copies printed at the same time. You can request them in person at our office or online.

You can request a vital record online by clicking the button below, filling out the appropriate form and uploading a copy of your ID. We cannot process a vital record request without a photo ID.

Marriage licenses require BOTH parties to be present and they take about 45 minutes to process. YOU NEED AN APPOINTMENT to do a marriage license. When you come please be sure both parties have a photo ID, divorce or death decrees (if applicable) and knowledge of your parents place of birth, middle names and names at birth. A marriage license is issued for ceremonies occurring in New Hampshire within 90 days and cost $50.

You cannot do marriage licenses online.

To make an appointment call: 603-756-3514 or townclerk [at] walpolenh.us (email)

If you plan to have an officiant perform your wedding who is not registered in New Hampshire, please be sure to apply for a special license from the Secretary of State’s office.
