What do I need to bring with me…

NO MATTER WHAT MOTOR VEHICLE WORK YOU ARE DOING YOU NEED TO BRING YOUR DRIVER’S LICENSE!! Boats too!
 

Registration Renewal: 
- Old paper registration!!! 
Or - Plate # This is true for boats too but we need Hull ID or HIN if no paper
 
New Registration - Car bought through a dealer: 
- Blue or white CTA form that says ‘Town Clerk Copy’ on bottom We recommend you bring all the dealer paperwork in case there is an error!!
 
New Registration - Private Sale: 
- Bill of sale 
- Title 
If vehicle pre2000 + no Title bring original prior NH registration or you will need a VIN verification
 
VT Title exempt Vehicle that needs Title in NH: 
- Bill of Sale 
- Last prior VT original paper registration
- VIN verification
 
Transferring Plates: 
- Paper Registration from car plates were on 
– if don’t have it we can print for $23 
- Name in center must match on old and new car 
– no changes 
- Paperwork for New car
 
New Registration – Trailer: 
- Bill of Sale - MCO or prior registration 
- If 2 axels or less and GVW 3000# or less or pre 1999 no title needed, otherwise title required.
- VIN Verification if you don’t have title or prior reg
 

For Used Trailers & Boats: 
Save yourself a trip! 

Take a photo on your phone of the VIN or HIN plate in case we need information from it!!
 
 

New Registration – Boats: 
- NH App for Boat Reg 
- Complete Bill of Sale 
- MCO Or - Prior NH registration Or 
- Prior out of State Reg Or 
- Seller’s MCO or Out of state Title

 
A Bill of Sale should include: 
- Names & addresses of buyer & seller 
- Signature buyer & seller 
- Car make, year & color 
- Odometer reading 
- VIN# - Date of sale
 

DOGS 
NH State law requires you to register your dog every year! – NO EXCEPTIONS! 
See RSA 466:1

DOGS 
You must register your dog every year by April 30th!

Annual reg only $2.25 if owner 65 or older by April 30th 

Marriage Certificate 
Death Certificate 
Birth Certificate 
Divorce Decree 
- Fill out App 
- Show photo ID 
- $15 first copy & $10 for each additional
 
NH Marriage License 
- Good for 90 days 
- Takes about 45 mins 
- Both parties must be present with ID’s
 - $50 cost 
- Divorce Decree(s) if not first marriage or Death Cert
 
Proving Residency in Walpole: 
- 2 pieces of mail that went through the USPS
 - If PO Box you need to prove physical address too – usually lease or Tax bill or Utility bill 
- Govt issued ID – does not need to be NH
