Hours: Open Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Mattresses, box springs, couches, stuffed chairs.....$12.50 surcharge per item and $.25 cents/ lb.
Yellow Walpole trash bags are available for pickup at $20 per roll of 10 trash bags ($2.00 per bag). Local retailers that sell town of Walpole trash bags: Aubuchon Hardware, Mr. G's, Jakes convenience, Shaws, Jiffy Mart, LaValley Building Supply, Drewsville, Agway
Trash Not in a Walpole bag....$.40 cents/ lb. on the scale inside
Construction and demolition debris.....$.25 cents/ lb.
Fluorescent tubes....$.25 cents per foot
Compact fluorescent tubes, light bulbs...free- (see attendant)
Electronics....televisions, monitors, printers, video consoles, computers.....$3.75 surcharge and $.25 cents/ lb.
Metal freon containing devices: refrigerators, dehumidifiers, air conditioners.....$15 flat fee per item
Other bulk metal appliances: water heaters, furnaces, washer, dryer.....$5 per item
Power equipment: lawn mowers, trimmers, chainsaws-DRAINED...$5. NOT DRAINED....$10
Batteries: separated by type at the "pinkish-orangish" refrigerator outside by the metal container...Free-(for now, prices may become in effect soon)
Propane tanks: under 20 lbs.....$1.50 (blowtorch or coleman stove size) 20 lb....$4.00 (grill tank) Fire extinguisher....$7.00 Helium.....$2.00
Latex paint: $5 per gallon regardless of how full. Oil based paint and stain to Keene Recycling hazardous waste days (10 gallons maximum-free for Walpole resident).
Used Oil...Free-please no more than 2 gallon receptacles (I have to pour these into tank over my shoulder!)- please call ahead if you have a barrel of used oil to drop off. (We have pump)
Compost...Free: no meat, no dairy...please bring flowers, leaves, vegetables, etc.
Brush...Free to Walpole residents...up to 4" diameter brush
Hazardous Waste...DO NOT BRING TO WALPOLE RECYCLING..Bring up to 10 gallons to hazardous waste days at the Keene Recycling center on route 12. FREE to town of Walpole residents!!
Yellow clothing bin....Donations of clothes, shoes, blankets, sheets, towels, stuffed animals to be placed in bag and dropped into the bin located straight ahead before compactor.
Fall Mountain Food Shelf’s inside bin takes non-perishable donations.
Reuse Center!!! -CLEAN UNDAMAGED DONATIONS ONLY-If dropping off donations for the reuse center through the recycling center, please leave those items on our scale. Do not walk through the industrial area of our facility- (RESPECT THE LLAMA). Items not marked Walpole reuse center are available for donation. (Some items do have a price tag which is calculated at one-fourth its value.) The reuse center does not take: electronics, freon containing devices (refrigerators, dehumidifiers, air conditoners), VHS tapes, mattresses, car seats, cribs, broken/dirty/cracked/ chipped items. Items coming in should be in very good and clean (not broken) condition. All items donated to reuse center are to be weighed on scale in recycling center by an attendant through the main entrance. Donations are free, but if the item(s) is/are not accepted we may charge for the weight of the items that were rejected by a staff member.

- Books are for sale at reuse center. $2 hardcover/ $1 softcover-donations/ .50 cents childrens books. Cash or check payment to Town of Walpole blue donation box on the table.

Take your dog for a walk in our park area, enjoy a picnic, go reuse shopping, find a great book to benefit the friends of the Walpole library, volunteer your help for one of our 2 hour shifts, recycle all you can, and immerse yourself in a recycling experience like no other at the one and only Walpole Recycling Center!
Spring 2025 Hazardous Waste Days are free for Walpole residents. Bring up to 10 gallons of hazardous waste per visit to Keene Recycling Center at 55 old summit rd. (off route 12) from 8am to 1pm on the following days: Saturday 4/ 26/ 25, Saturday 5/10/25, Wednesday 5/14/25, Saturday 5/3125, Saturday 6/14/25, Wednesday 6/18/25, Saturday 6/28/25.
