What Requires a Building and/or Demolition Permit?
- New Construction that changes the footprint of the property; including sheds, garages, decks, porches
- Construction of any detached structure.
- Solar arrays both ground mount and roof mount.
- Demolition including homes, sheds, garages, decks, porches.
What does not require a Building Permit?
- Re-siding, re-roofing, new windows
- Gutters, fences.
- Interior Renovations.
- Any new structure that is under 100 square feet including additions, sheds, decks, porches
For commercial building expansions (interior and exterior), contact the Planning Board Chair to determine if a Site Plan Review is needed. The Selectboard Office will not accept commercial property building permits without Planning Board feedback.
