TOWN OF
BOND HEARING

Selectboard Present: Whitney
Aldrich (Chair); Jamie Teague, Sheldon Sawyer
Moderator, Ernie Vose, called the Bond Public Hearing to order at
BOND HEARING: Mr. Aldrich, Chair of the Selectboard,
explained that the Bond is being requested for the following two projects. :
1)
Cast in place
Concrete Slab Bridge 24’ span. Double
the hydraulic capacity of the existing structure; includes concrete abutments
with wingwalls and permanent steel sheeting for scour
protection. Approximate cost $275,000.
2)
Engineering,
Guardrail allowance of $3,000 and Paving allowance of $12,000. Approximately $15,000.
School Street Drainage:
1)
Change storm
water drainage from brook by
The total sum for these two
projects is estimated at $372,000.00.
The amount will be financed through the issuance of a 5.5 year bond or
note in accordance with the provisions of the Municipal Finance Act (RSA33) and
to authorize the Selectboard to make any necessary
organizational decisions, issue, negotiate and regulate such bonds or notes and
to determine the rate of interest thereon.
(Non-lapsing for Two Years). A
2/3 Ballot Vote is required. The Selectboard recommends this Article. (3-Yes, 0-No).
Jim Terrell, Highway
Supervisor, explained that a 5.5-year rather than a 10-year bond or note was
chosen because of the savings in interest.
Mrs. Teague noted that the first payment is one-half of an interest
payment; the first full payment will be made in 2011.
No other comments were made. There were eight residents in attendance.
Adjournment: Mr.
Sawyer moved to close this Public Hearing.
Seconded by Mrs. Teague. All in
favor, motion passed by a unanimous vote.
