MEETING OF THE SELECTBOARD
Selectboard Present: Whitney

Mr. Aldrich called the
meeting to order at
PUBLIC BUSINESS:
DAVID KEURFULAINEN – Merriam
Farm Building Permit on Class 6 Road Per RSA 67441: Mr. Keurfulainen
advised that they would like to request a Building Permit on a Class VI road
for their lots of record as per RSA 67441.
Mr. Keurfulainen and Mr. Lampi
were given the Waiver of Liability forms that will need to be completed, signed
and recorded.
RECREATION DEPARTMENT –
Purchase Orders: Joe Goodhue submitted
two purchase orders for the pool. The
federal government is now mandating that there be special covers on the drains;
they are $200/each. The Selectboard approved the two purchase orders for the drain covers
and chemicals. There was discussion
relative to the fact that the tennis and basketball courts need to be done
again and the bathroom stalls are in need of repairs.
PATRICIA BEAUDOIN: The Selectboard
acknowledged receipt of a letter from Mrs. Beaudoin
requesting that the Selectboard approve the erection
of one sign on
WALPOLE GOLF CLUB: Jeff Miller and Bill Therrien
wanted to notify the Selectboard of the fact that
since Pam Clace no longer was going to do meals at
the Walpole Country Club that they had found another Walpole couple that were
interested in taking this over (Paul & Marla Lowery and their daughter
Renee Putnam d/b/a LP Putters Fair, LLC).
The terms of the lease will be similar to the last one; it will still be
seasonal from May 1st to November 1st. They will also be allowed to rent out the
three rooms upstairs.
SOUTHWEST REGION PLANNING
COMMISSION: Jeff Miller requested that
the Selectboard nominate Ben Daviss
and Robert Miller, Planning Board members, as Town representatives to the
SWRPC. The Selectboard
agreed to this request and will have a letter written to the SWRPC.
PLANNING BOARD: Jeff Miller advised that after the Planning
Board discussed the Economic Revitalization Zone Tax Credits, they were in
favor of establishing districts in the Town.
Mr. Sawyer noted that there was a consensus that all of the Commercial
and Industrial areas would be considered a part of the Economic Revitalization
Zone to be eligible for tax credits.
ACCOUNTS PAYABLE: Mr. Sawyer moved to approve the Accounts Payable check register and
manifest in the amount of $85,821.05.
Seconded by Mrs. Teague. Motion
passed unanimously.
PAYROLL: Mrs.
Teague moved to approve the payroll voucher for the week ending
Selectboard Meeting –
Mr. Sawyer moved to approve the electronic fund
transfer for the 941 Employer Taxes for Withholding, MEDI and FICA taxes in the
amount of $3,515.20. Seconded by Mrs.
Teague. Motion passed unanimously.

OLD BUSINESS:
HIGH STREET – ONE WAY: Mr.
Sawyer moved to make High Street one way in from
ROBERT LANDRY –Inspection-
Route 123 and
EOP: Mrs.
Teague moved to sign the Statement of Promulgation and all other documents to
verify acceptance of the
Selectboard Meeting –
enforce the Town’s Dog Ordinance
to have the owners of dogs pick up the dogs “excrement” when they are walking
them especially on and near the school. The
Selectboard discussed the situation, took it under
advisement and will look into how to handle it.
SOLID WASTE FACILITY: Mrs. Teague received a call from Paul Colburn
about the waste oil building. The grant
money does not come in until September but the person that is going to
construct the building wants to do it soon.
The Selectboard authorized him to go ahead
with the project.

OFFICIALS –
VACATION TIME: Police Chief David Hewes
submitted a notice of his schedule for vacation time. Lt. Michael Paquette will be in charge during
his absence.
LETTER TO BE SIGNED:
ELDERLY PROPERTY TAX EXEMPTION: The Selectboard
signed the letter to Mr. and Mrs. Harry Bernard regarding an Elderly Property
Tax Exemption.
