Walpole Playground Committee

Minutes 6/30/09

In Attendance: Stacie Gay, Angela Smith, Melissa MacIntire, Caitlyn Caserta, Jody Caskin-Bruzgis, Pam Asslinger, Billy Stahl

Meeting Opened at 7:10 PM.

Brief overview / history of project given.

The following considerations were discussed:

¬The playground will be located at The Whitcolm Recreation Center.

¬The budget will be approximately $20,000 - $25,000.

¬Funding could come from donations, fundraising, and grants.

¬It will be somewhat of a “garden” setting with trees and other plantings with 5-6 small structures (i.e. swings, slide, ect,) strategically placed throughout.

¬Would like the equipment to be from the New England area and made from sustainable sources if possible.

¬Appropriate for multiple ages

¬Would like to involve local businesses wherever possible and have input from other Walpole Committees.

¬Must meet ADA guidelines.

Caitlyn and Stacie will research further and come back to the group with some possible designs and figures.
